01/11/2005 Launching of the Childhood Protection and Care website
Mrs. Lahoud held a press conference in her office, at the Presidential Palace, whereby she launched the website of the association she presides "Childhood Protection and Care". After a welcoming speech in which details of the association and the website were described, a slideshow and comprehensive demonstration of the website were offered by the webmaster, Mr. Elie Ibrahim.
This event was also punctuated by the launching of the childhood wristband on which the association's motto is engraved: "Keep Smiling".

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am glad to meet with you today in Baabda to share an event that means a lot to me. I would like to announce to you, and through you to all Lebanese, the launching of a website belonging to the association I have founded and which I have the honor to preside, the Childhood Protection and Care Association.
In today's world, if we want to connect to the highest number of people possible, and in order to be accessible to everybody, it has become a necessity to own an Internet website. We want ours to be more than an address to visit, but a true space for meeting and interacting.
We want it as an outstretched hand for joy, through which we shall wipe the tears from hurting eyes.
We want it as a heart of life, through which we encompass the children and their families with love.
Yes, we want our association's website to be a bridge to meetings of giving, tirelessly. In one word, we want it a page made of hope, witnessing that we are strong together, in serving man's dignity.
A group of volunteers and friends have made this website possible, in order to have the association known by all those who are interested in childhood news, although only a year has passed since its official implementation. But the association possesses a great will and complete readiness to work. And we, at the Childhood Protection and Care Association, consider that a decent life starts with a safe childhood surrounded with love, and that is what we are trying to offer the children. Unfortunately the children who lack safety and love are many.
You will find all relevant information on the website, but before I leave the experts with the task of presenting it to you, I would like to announce that, on this occasion, and in the association's name, we are introducing wristbands with the colors of love, hope, and joy. On them is engraved our motto, "keep smiling": it is the symbol of love, hope, and cooperation.
Thank you for your presence, and thank you for helping us.
Andrée Emile Lahoud First Lady of Lebanon
